A BETTER SCHOOL OF BUILDING INSPECTION HISTORY AND MISSION

Inspection Class at Side of Home
Our Mission
For over 26 years, A Better School of Building Inspection's mission has been to provide quality, affordable professional home inspector training to people across the United States. We train people at all stages of their careers, whether they be brand new to the field or simply renewing their license. Our courses are designed to help people from the ground up. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds - building and remodeling contractors, handymen, teachers, police officers, airline pilots, pharmacists, accountants, biochemists - all looking for a second career. Whatever your background, age, or experience level, our home inspection courses can be catered to your strengths, schedule, and needs to prepare you for licensing and a successful career as a home inspector. In addition to home inspections, we also have training in commercial building inspections, new construction inspections, and manufactured housing inspections. What a great way to expand your business and make it even more profitable.

History
After working for years honing his skills in carpentry, construction, and home and building inspections, Stan Harbuck recognized that there was a lack of quality, affordable home-based training courses for aspiring home inspectors. He dedicated himself to visually documenting thousands of defects, meticulously capturing and cataloging real-life scenarios encountered in homes and buildings.

Over the course of many years, he painstakingly organized this wealth of information into comprehensive yet easily understandable training programs. He and his team of professionals began producing home-study courses with extensive use of videos for residential, commercial, new construction, and energy inspections. What better way for students to learn then by seeing the defects they should be able to recognize as an inspector? Now, more than 26 years later, thousands of people across the United States have completed these courses and found successful, fulfilling, and profitable careers in the field of home inspection.
