Florida does not currently have a law requiring licensure, certification, or registration of home inspectors.  This means that if you want to become a home inspector, you do not need a professional license from the state to get started.  (The law passed last session by the legislature was vetoed by the governor.)

However, to become a competent home inspector, you need training.  We offer this training in the form of home study courses, live classroom courses, and our "live course" on DVD that includes the extensive hands-on and field training exercises found in our classroom course.

Even though there are no home inspector license laws in your state, there are other laws that home inspectors must abide by including, for example, laws or rules on contracts.  Furthermore, there are ways that home inspectors can even potentially limit their liability.  This information is taught in our home study courses, live classroom courses, and our "live course" on DVD.
