Inspectors In the US and Canada That Are Not As Likely To Be Soliciting Referrals From Agents
Below is a list of home inspectors whom I have seen support the cause of independence from real estate agents. This list is not an endorsement of their work or independence. You must verify for yourself that they have met the criteria of independence when you are ordering and having them do an inspection. Make sure a provision in their contract guarantees that they do not solicit referrals from agents (in the few areas, like Texas, where contracts are not used, you may have to settle for a guarantee statement in their report). Refer back to page 37 for a definition of "soliciting."
Be sure to use the "weighted" table of criteria in Appendix D for entering information about inspection companies you call.
