Exam Preparation
First, if your state does not have a state exam, you are not required to take a home inspection exam. To see what your state requires, click here.
Second, if you want to join a home inspector association, you usually have to take the exam given by that association. Oddly enough, many of the association exams have many questions that are unrelated to home inspection, i.e., ASHI/NHIE, CREIA, NACHI. The exception seems to be NAHI. Their exam questions are almost all about home inspections.
